Casts 65+ yards with ease. I catch a lot of catfish where i fish (not by choice ofcourse) it reels the the 10-15 pounders in with out any problem. Dont really use the fish alert unless im using more than one pole but thats what its for right? 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful  awesome, This review is from: Zebco 7-foot Hawg Seeker Spinning Reel Fishing Combo (Sports) Just bought this pole yesterday at a local story and couldn't wait to get it in the water but first just decided to just work on mycasting with it but the pole wouldn't cast cause the line was tangled up so bad so I got rid of it and spooled knew line and it cast perfect now. After I fixed that problem I went out to the lake and decided to go bass fishing with my brothers even though the pole is made for catching big cats well after about 20 min. Of casting and reeling I finally catch a 2 pound bass and was pertty excited just about that but an hour after that I got a huge bite and the bass almost took the pole out of my hand because I wasn't exp. ecting a bite like that but anyways it only took about 45 seconds to reel in. And as soon as I get it on the bank the line snaps and I just threw my pole and jumped on the bass after all that was done I'm screaming and laughing and hear come my brother running thinking I got hurt or something I don't know but I told them does... Ideal for bank fishing. The handle and wide eyelets makes it easy to make long smooth casts from the bank which is needed to help prevent throwing bait such as chicken livers from the bank. I gave four stars because I havent taken it fishing yet and dont know how the reel and rod will fair fighting catfish. I will update once I have. So far practice casts around the house have earned it a 4 star rating!!! |
