 Best All-Around Option, By This review is from: Abu Garcia Cardinal 100i Series Combo (Sports) ABU GARCIA CARDINAL 100iREEL: -The Abu Garcia Cardinal 100i has an extremely smooth reel for the overall price of the combo. The drag is easily adjustable, the reel features optional reverse, very good. However, the reel does not hande flourocarbon line very well. I would recommend 6-8 pund monofilament. ROD: - The rod itself, though less impressive than the reel, performs well enough to suit any situation, from panfish to pike, though best handles walleyes and smallmouth, with many 20-inch fish of both species hauled in on it. TRAVELABILITY: -Probably the worst feature of this combo is that because it is a one-peice, it doesn't as easily fit in the trunk or seats of smaller cars or SUVs. If this is a consideration for you, the slightly less-performing 2-piece model would be a more plausible idea.
