My daughter (age 5) has learned to cast the pole and is mastering the steps to become an accomplished fisher"Kid." I would recommend this to people who want a rod for their child who loves pink colored fishing equipment and lights to start out with. The only negative for my daughter was the reel is a little stiff to click the bail over and begin reeling the cast. I was presently surprised by the quality of the combo. It is perfect with some 6lb test for a beginner like her and the good action is true to its size and class. The reel is solid and should last a long time for her occasional trips. Also its pink but not to girly so if for what ever reason it is in my hands I still think its kind of cool looking and stylish. In fact it it came in other colors I would reccomend it to anyone looking for an inexspensive, well built med light rod. Great buy!
