Could just be a personal thing though... Otherwise, this is a great combo, especially the reel. While certainly not as great as some of the higher-end reels, at nearly 1/4 of the price...the quality and performance that you get is without-a-doubt awesome.Overall, it's much better than any Shakespeare/Zebco/Ugly Stick combo I've ever picked up. I am fairly new at fishing, so I did not want to spend a fortune on equipment. I previously purchased the inexpensive sets at discount stores like Wal-mart, and even an inexpensive set at Cabela's. This set outperforms all of them. Since the reels on the previous sets are what have broken, I ended up with several rods but no usable reels. Funny how you can get a combo for cheaper than just buying a new reel (in many cases).I decided to try this combo, since I thought it was great deal, and I have heard great things about the brand.
